Stamping out ...Wikki Sticks (also called Bendaroos)
Stamping out words
Build a word pyramids (write one letter of the word, then two of them, then three, etc. until the word is built)
Sandpaper letters (good kinesthetically)-- I cut them out of semi-coarse sandpaper and glue them onto small cards. They have to trace the letters with their fingers as they spell it.
Alphabet pasta or cookies
Cheez-it Crackers with letters on them (Scrabble version)
Scrapbooking alphabet stickers
This is off the top of my head. I know this is for word work activities but I use these for memorizing trick words also:
Empty and dry a water bottle and fill with sand or salt. Add trick words printed out on cardstock and cut up to the bottle. Can add other trinkets or beads also. Kids shake the bottle. When they find a word card, they also find it on a laminated mat of words I have and they highlight it with a dry erase marker. They keep shaking until they find them all. Be sure to hot glue the cap onto the bottle!!!
Roll a dice and find a word with that many letters from a list of trick words or the word wall to write out.
Rainbow write with:
colored pencils
markers
gel pens on black paper
Scrabble words (Copy Scrabble tiles and have kids make words and count up their points also --word and math practice all in one!)
I'm lovin' this linky party!
